VTOS Business and Retail Skills Level 4
Programme Aim
The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to work effectively under supervision in the business and or retail sector and to progress to further education and training. Successful Graduates can apply for Further Education courses in Year 2 with WCFE, they include Tourism and Travel Industry studies, Business Studies.

Start Date: 26-08-2024 Hours/week: 28 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 40 weeks
No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme.

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.

On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competency to
work under supervision in the business and retail sector and or to progress to further education and training.
There are no minimum entry requirements but students must meet the VTOS eligibility requirements – please check with us.
Childcare subvention may be available from your local participating crèche or childcare provider.
A travel allowance is available for this who are more than 3 miles away from the college
Students keep all their social protection payment entitlements.
Students may work part-time while on the course without loss of benefit once they adhere to the rules of their scheme.
Applications welcome from those in direct provision who have permission to work.
This is provided in an adult learning environment as part of a larger college
