National Learning Network Fast Track To Employment General Learning 4M2010 2024
Course Duration: Up to 68 weeks
A flexible training course that enable students to gain practical skills through on the job experience with a host company in the skill area of their choice.
The course is a combination of on-the-job and in-centre training. The Fast Track to employment co-ordinator will support both the learner and the employer.
The course supports students into the workplace through 3 phases.
Phase 1 Pre-placement offers students a more intensive in-centre period to ensure they settle into the programme and they are work ready for placement.
12 weeks where the student spends 4 days in-centre and 1 day on–the-job.
Phase 2 40 weeks where the student spends 3 days in-centre and two days on–the-job.
Phase 3 The final phase, transition to employment will consist of 16 weeks where the student spends 2 days in-centre and 3 days on–the-job.

Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.
