Numeracy Skills – Everyday Numbers and Maths (QQI Level 2)

Do numbers or calculating hold you back?
This course is all about improving your math skills, for life or for work.
It might be your first step back into education.
This course is especially for you if you have less than Junior Certificate, or less than secondary education.
The group will be small, and the pace will be comfortable for everyone.
It is a non-judgmental learning space, friendly, welcoming and confidence-boosting.

The course covers:
• Words used in maths
• Maths signs and symbols (+ – = x and more)
• How to solve problems
• Everyday maths like budgeting, distances and costs
• Using a calculator correctly
and more.

Education Requirements
No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 1 when accessing a Level 2 programme.

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.


Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an elementary range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to work under direction.
