Fulltime Classroom Engineering, manufacturing and construction

CNC and SolidWorks

The aim of the programme is to provide learners with the skill and related knowledge in the application of using Vcarve-pro software for CNC machining of Materials (Soft Aluminium and Timber) as well as gaining the required knowledge of safe working practice, identifying different types of CNC Machines, generate manual and automatically software and generating G-Codes for CNC Machines . The learners will also be able to edit basic 3D models using SolidWorks for Parametric Modelling.

1- CNC Machining of Materials
This module enables the learner to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to
successfully machine by Computer Numerical Control (CNC), it includes part programming, preparation of the machine, selection and the preparing of the required methods of workholding, the selection and the correct mounting of tooling.
It also covers the operations required and safe working practices to complete the machining operations.

2- Parametric Modelling
This module will equip candidates with an understanding of the CAD Parametric Modelling environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings. It will explore the typical composition of a CAD Parametric Modelling system and Health and Safety matters that are associated with safe working practices.

Workshops will take place every Tuesday & Wednesday from 9.00am to 16.00pm
