Programme Aim
The ITEC Beauty Therapy Awards listed in this programme are vocational qualifications recognised by Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) within the UK Qualifications and Credit Framework. They focus on a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge required in the Beauty Therapy Industry.
The aim of this training programme is to enable candidates to acquire the skills, knowledge and attitudes to work effectively as a beauty therapist. The programme aims to enable the learner through practical experience to integrate the theoretical and practical aspects of working in the beauty industry.
ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Make-Up 100/2573/X
The aim of this training programme is to provide learners with the skills and techniques to source employment as a Fashion, Theatre and Media Make-Up Artist.

L4 Diploma in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments – 500/1212/5
The aim of the ITEC Level 4 Diploma in Laser and Light Treatments is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide Laser and Light Treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation to the general public and to gain employment in the Beauty Industry.
L2 Certificate in Facial Hair – 603/4043/5 – iBT2C2
The aim of the VTCT (ITEC) L3 Certificate in Facial Hair is to enable learners provide facial skincare treatments to clients to industry standards and in line with health and safety requirements.

L2 Diploma for Beauty Specialists – 603/4034/4 – iBT2D7
The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Specialists is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide beauty specialist treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 2. It also provides a sound platform into further training at level 3.

L3 Diploma in Beauty, Massage and Electrotherapy 603/3221/9 – iBT3D8
The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Beauty, Massage and Electrotherapy is to enable
learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide beauty, massage and electrotherapy treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry. The qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 3. It also provides a sound platform into further learning at level 3 or level 4.

Certificate in Facial Electrical Treatments 603/4037/X – iBT3C14
This award is for learners who want to work within the beauty therapy industry. It consists of 4 mandatory awards with a total of 192 GLH (guided learning hours). The main skills the learner will perform are facial electrical treatments – used for anti-ageing purposes and the maintenance of a healthy skin. The learner will also develop knowledge about related health and safety and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the beauty industry.

Start Date: 26-08-2025 Hours/week: 23 Hrs 00 Mins
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
Previously achieved an ITEC or equivalent award in a Beauty Therapy field
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway
