Annual Waterford VTOS Graduate Fashion Show 2020

It was a night to remember! Waterford VTOS held its annual Graduate Fashion Show in the beautiful and historic setting of the Gateway Centre, Patrick Street on Tuesday evening, 10 March 2020.

The Fashion Show showcased the QQI Level 5 Fashion Design and Sewing Skill’s students’ work completed over a two year period. The event is organised by the students as part of their Work Experience requirement. The setting, music and lights provided a fitting backdrop as the models strutted and paraded the bespoke design creations of this talented group of students.

Every piece in this collection was created individually by each student and was inspired by the diversity of cultures and backgrounds. The students draw their inspiration from a wide variety of sources including art, nature, music and dance. The collections captured the colour and vibrancy of Gambia and Mexico to the architectural aesthetic of Japan; the funk/ rock/pop rhythms of Prince to the music and energy of Daft Punk to finally exploring the fragility and strength of dance and nature.

During the two year duration of the course, the students had the opportunity to learn many skills in Embroidery; Design; Combined Materials; Pattern Drafting and Garment Construction which has helped the students to develop their own specific style and identity. Style and finish which was worthy of any catwalk.
