The main aims of the unit are as follows:
- Assist with Health and Safety planning and systems of work
- Provide help with audits and risk assessments
- Provide information and support to Health and Safety committees
- Delivering an Advisory Service
- Monitor relevant legislative updates
- Maintain and report on accident, incident and near miss statistics highlighting any data trends
- Identify new and on-going safety related training requirement
