Business Administration

Purpose
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and higher education and training.The course contains modules in computers, accounts and payroll.

Education Requirements
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

Age Requirements
Minimum statutory school leaving age (16+)


Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.


Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Learners will have acquired the knowledge skills and competencies in the theory and practice in this vocational area.
This course is available to anyone who is unemployed for at least 156 days. They can be in receipt of JSA, JSB, OPFA, Disability Allowance, Dependent on a partner in any of the previous categories or signing for credits. In the case of a person who has been made redundant the 156 days unemployed can be waived. Trainee allowance is payable and a meal and travel allowance where applicable. an option of subsidized childcare is also available. Participants should be over 21.
