Skills to Advance – High Purity Pipe Fabrication and Welding

The aim of the course is to provide learners with the opportunity to learn, practise and develop the skills of high purity pipe fabrication and welding. To familiarize them with the terminology, tool, materials, equipment and working practices which form the foundation for their further development and progression.

During each module the learner will undergo a series of integrated learning experiences to develop the skills, knowledge and competencies prescribed for each module. The content is structured to develop the learner in the range of skills which they will be required to perform to industry standards.

Start Date: 14-07-2025 Hours/week: 15 Hrs 15 Mins Duration: 5 weeks

Education Requirements
The course is aimed at qualified craftspeople in the trades of Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Electrical Instrumentation, Metal Fabrication and Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting seeking to develop skills to work in high purity pipeline systems manufacture and assembly and welding.

The work involves the installation, repair and maintenance of high purity pipe systems as used in the semi-conductor, pharma, food, and medical device sector. The work requires operating within a strict controlled environment where the highest standards are required. This is at every stage from planning to job completion. This involves but is not limited to interpretation of drawings, planning the operation, material handling, pipe bending, welding, fitting, testing, and recording outcomes where appropriate.
