Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.

Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.


Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.

On completion of this programme learners will have acquired a broad range of personal skills which will enable personal development and active citizenship, and/or to progress to employment and/or further education or training. Programme content includes modules such as IT Skills, communication skills, work experience, personal effectiveness.

This programme leads to a QQI Level 4 Major Award in General Learning.

Education: Applicants seeking entry to the programme must have achieved a minimum of a QQI level 3 Major award or its equivalent prior to entry to the programme.
Aptitude: The programme will suit learners who are seeking to further develop their key, employment related, transferable and vocational skills, knowledge and competence.
Previous Experience: Alternatively, applicants may have achieved the equivalent standard of Knowledge, skill and competence through relevant work experience
