Coded Pipe Welding

This course has been designed to provide industry with personnel who are certified to A.S.M.E. IX and or EN ISO 9606- 1 standards.

The aim of the course:
This course will provide trainees with the skills and related knowledge in carbon steel pipe and stainless steel pipe welding at the positions as defined in the standard and to develop their attitudes, personal effectiveness, job safety and hazard awareness to themselves and to others and also to encourage their job seeking skills to enable them to obtain employment as coded pipe welders.

Employability Statement:
The successful completion of the City and Guilds TIG award in Stainless Steel Pipe welding will enable applicants to find employment as a Coded Pipe Welder.

Education Requirements
Basic Welding Course XX008 must be successfully completed or a minimum of 3 years previous welding experience

On completion of the training programme learners will be able to:-

1- INDUCTION
State the planned outcomes and the conditions attached to attendance on the course; apply good safety, health and hygiene practices; state the basic principle involved in environmental issues and explain the meaning of equal opportunities.

2- MOUNTING OF ABRASIVE WHEELS
Select and mount Abrasive Wheels safely in accordance with current and relevant safety legislation and guidance documentation HSG 17.

3- SAFEPASS
Work on construction sites without being a risk to themselves or to others. Note: It is a mandatory requirement to complete this Safepass module.

4- CARBON STEEL PIPE T.I.G. ROOT E7018 FILL AND CAP
Produce T.I.G./MMA welds to ASME IX and/or EN ISO 9606-1 standards in carbon steel pipe at positions 2G, 5G and 6G.

5- CARBON STEEL PIPE T.I.G. COMPLETE
Produce T.I.G. welds to A.S.M.E. IX and/or EN ISO 9606-1 standards in carbon steel pipe at positions 2G, 5G, and 6G.

6- CARBON STEEL PIPE E6011/E6010 ROOT E6013 FILL AND CAP
Produce welds to ASME IX and/or EN ISO 9606-1 standards using E6011/E6010 and E6013 in carbon steel pipe

7- STAINLESS STEEL PIPE SCHEDULE 10 316L T.I.G COMPLETE
Produce welds to ASME IX and/or EN ISO 9606-1 standards in stainless steel pipe at positions 2G, 5G and 6G

8- STAINLESS STEEL PIPE SCHEDULE 40 316L T.I.G. COMPLETE
Produce T.I.G. welds to ASME IX and/or EN 9606-1 standards in stainless steel pipe at positions 2G, 5G and 6G.

9- CAREER PLANNING AND JOB SEEKING SKILLS
Plan and achieve realistic work goals.

10- IN-COMPANY
Demonstrate a broad range of occupational competencies in a real work environment.
